Visitor center Jomfruland Nationalpark
Jomfruland is easily accessible by ferry from Kragerø. We recommend walking and taking your time, but you can bring your bike on the ferry or rent one at the tower pier at Jomfruland. There are taxi boats from Kragerø and Valle in Bamble that can take you to any place where they can dock.
If you have your own boat, you can visit the publicly protected outdoor areas. With a small boat or kayak and calm weather, you can dock almost anywhere. By car from the landside, you can visit Stangnes or Portør.

The marine national park
The national park stretches from the border with Risør in the south-west to the border with Bamble in the north-east, and covers 117 square kilometers of coastal nature. 98% of the area is sea and seabed, kelp forest and eelgrass meadows. The glacial deposit, the raet, which runs through the entire national park, has created particularly favorable growth conditions for both land and marine plants. This is why Jomfruland and Stråholmen appear to be particularly productive islands, and in the sea there are similarly favorable conditions for a diversity of marine life – a productive sea.
