The harbor seal is an alien species that settles as large carpets on the seabed, displacing other species. Recently, there have been reports of harbor seal on the Koster Islands, just south of Hvaler. We are concerned that it may have spread further.

All marinas and others who engage in activities in the sea should check their boats and equipment regularly and pass on the information poster. It contains information on how to recognize the species, what measures to take and where to report findings.
